The fascinating series of photo postcards was created by the Eastern Illustrating and Publishing Company to promote tourism. BRHS Class of 2026 fundraiser Oct. 25 and 26 The Boothbay Region High School Class of 2026 will be holding a two-day event to raise funds for their Project Graduation trip after graduation in June. Join the BRHS Class of 2026 on a Spooky Halloween Wilderness Walk and Family Movie on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 25 and 26, 5-8 p.m., at the BRHS tennis courts. A SPOOKtacular celebration at BRVM this weekend The annual Railway SPOOKtacular is set for this Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Boothbay Railway Village Museum, 586 Wiscasset Road/Route 27, Boothbay. The event will feature trick or treat stations hosted by community businesses and nonprofit organizations, carnival games, arts and crafts, a scavenger hunt, face painting, train rides and other spooky festivities. Community input sought on economic development strategy The towns of Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor are seeking input from residents, workers, business owners, students, and visitors to help shape a forward-looking economic development strategy. In collaboration with RCAP Solutions, a nonprofit specializing in rural community and economic development, the towns have launched a community-wide survey to gather insights and ideas directly from those who live, work, and spend time in the region. The goal is to ensure future economic development efforts align with community values and priorities. Nature journaling workshop Nov. 2 in Edgecomb A nature journaling workshop is being offered at the Edgecomb Community Church on Sunday, Nov. 2, from 1 to 3 p.m. Kids ages 10 and older are encouraged to join with a parent or caring adult for this two-hour outdoor adventure. During this workshop you will explore nature and your power of observation, while exploring your senses, practicing awareness and understanding about how to take that information and put it into a nature journal using words and sketches. Early on Friday, Oct. 3, seniors gathered at the Southport Town Landing to watch the sunrise. With a hearty breakfast of fresh-baked goods generously donated by the Southport General Store, they huddled together in the cold and enjoyed the morning light. Maine Art Gallery season ends Oct. 18 Saturday, Oct. 18 marks the last day of a vibrant season for the Maine Art Gallery (MAG). The non-profit association of artists located in Wiscasset recorded double the revenue from the prior year’s sales and about twice the number of visitors, too. By utilizing both floors of the gallery for concurrent shows MAG was able to offer more opportunities for members to exhibit while extending the length of a major retrospective of the works of a single artist.
