Scary Readings Halloween Event Oct. 29
No place knows how to put the Halloween “Boo!” in Boothbay Harbor better than the Opera House! The annual Scary Readings event returns on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. Opera House technical director and set designer Kevin Kiley will transform the stage into a haunting setting for the readings, and the rest of the house will also be decorated for Halloween.
Given the “shiver level” of the storytelling, this evening is not recommended for families with young children.
The readings will be preceded by a Community Potluck. Those attending the potluck are asked to bring an ample main dish, salad, or side dish to share, along with appropriate serving utensils. Please do not bring bread or dessert. While disposable plates and silverware will be available, attendees are encouraged to bring their own. The doors will open at 5:45 p.m., potluck dinner at 6, followed by the Scary Readings at approximately 6:45.
Those planning to attend just the Scary Readings portion of the evening should plan to arrive at 6:30 p.m. No reservations or tickets are required, but those who have questions can call 633-6855. The Opera House is located at 86 Townsend Ave. This is an evening guaranteed to bring the Halloween spirit to life!
