The Midcoast Fiber Artists will be displaying their work November through December 2026 at the Southport Memorial Library. The show will feature diverse work from the group’s members that will include high-quality framed works, wall hangings, floor coverings and small artifacts.

Fiber art is an increasingly popular art form that offers qualities that are not often available in fine art: an attention to natural materials, texture and dimensionality – artwork that is soft, touchable, approachable.

Our group incorporates their love of color, form and texture in their art form. Inspiration is drawn from floral, fauna, wildlife and our locale. Techniques on display include rug hooking, weaving, felting and needlework with both traditional and modern interpretations.

Midcoast Fiber Artists was created in 2014 by Susan Schweigard and Pamela Riml as a venture for fiber artists in the Midcoast area. The group offers a monthly exchange of ideas, techniques and information to inspire and support fiber artists.

Southport Memorial Library is located at 1032 Hendricks Hill Road and is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. For more information: 207-633-2741 and https://www.southportlibrary.org/
