Halloween Parade returns for its 27th year
Dress in your costume and bring your trick-or-treating bag for the 27th annual Halloween Parade! The parade will commence at the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library Lawn at 4 p.m. sharp on Saturday, Oct. 31 and will end at the Opera House at Boothbay Harbor for a special Trunk-or-Treat. This event will happen rain or shine.
This time-honored tradition allows kids from across the peninsula and beyond to don their costumes and collect treats from downtown Boothbay Harbor businesses and area residents. The parade route will take participants from BHML up McKown Street and Townsend Avenue to the Opera House parking lot.
In 2025, a crowd of nearly 700 participants trick-or-treated their way along the parade route or passed out candy. Families from near and far enjoy this yearly tradition that has taken place nearly every year since 2000.
Trunk-or-treating is a newer tradition started in 2023 in partnership with the Boothbay Harbor Opera House. The addition has seen great support from local organizations and businesses that lie beyond the traditional parade route. This year, the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce will be taking charge of coordinating the Trunk-or-Treat. Please email events@boothbayharbor.com with interest in setting up a trunk for treating.
Thanks to all of the participating individuals, organizations, and businesses for making this community tradition such a joyful time for children (and adults)!
