Should anyone have any of those issues from 1910 and earlier tucked away in an attic or some other location, please contact Sarah Morley at sarahmorley@boothbayregister.com or Kevin Burnham at kevinburnham@boothbayregister.com

A journey to 19,341 feet above sea level begins with a single step. Longtime regional visitor Greg Godkin, 53, recently joined ranks with those who have reached the summit of Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro — all with a broken foot.

Summit day began at midnight and took four hours to reach the peak; just in time for the sun to rise.

“When I made my first step at the top of the mountain, that sense of accomplishment. There's no material item that I will ever own that will ever come close to that feeling,” he said.

The view from Tim Lewis’ Boothbay Harbor home is beautiful, especially during the summer when the noon sun reflects off the Atlantic, and the seaweed-adorned shipwrecks still wasting in the harbor peek out at low tide. Light from the bay window similarly illuminates the vases that decorate almost every surface of the house.

River Arts is pleased to host a one-day wet felting workshop with Maine fiber artist Laura McNelly. McNelly, a former teacher and floral designer, was introduced to felting when she began volunteering at a local school and for a group of homeschoolers.
