OLQOP serves last Community Lunch of the season
Monday, March 9 saw the sun rise and a literal heatwave hit the Harbor as all the volunteers and the hosts, Our Lady Queen of Peace, gathered at Brady's for the final Community Lunch of the 25/26 season. Everyone was a little sad to see the end but also a little happy because it marks the beginning of what everyone hopes will be warmer weather and a busy season for everyone.
OLQOP members served chicken pot pie, Caesar salad, and assorted homemade cookies. Congregant Riley Mitchell made a few remarks, thanking all the volunteers and hosts for 22 spectacular meals during this year's season. He then brought attention to the ringleader of the group, Tancy Mitchell, aka, Momma T, for her countless hours scheduling hosts, coordinating meals, herding volunteers, and making her haddock chowder every week. Riley then presented Tancy a bouquet of flowers and a hug for his Granny!
Scheduling for next year's Community Lunches will begin in May. Any interested hosts should send inquiries to Tancy either through a text or email. 207-592-0660/Tancymitchell4@gmail.com
Thanks for another fantastic season!
Cheers!
