Selectmen election a 4-way race in Boothbay Harbor
Four candidates are vying for two open seats on the Boothbay Harbor Board of Selectmen. According to Town Clerk Michelle Farnham, the town received nomination papers for all but one seat to fill six openings.
David Cody, Evan David Hepburn, Jennie Mitchell Plummer and incumbent Mark Gimbel filed papers for two open selectboard seats. Gimbel’s term has come up, and former selectman Mark Osborn resigned in 2025.
However, no nominations were filed for a seat on the Community School District Board of Trustees. The seat will be open due to Darrell Gudroe’s expiring term. The town will offer that seat to the candidate with the most write-in votes.
The other seats up for election have uncontested nominees. Patricia Minerich filed for a seat on the CSD School Committee for Jenessa Garrett’s expired term; David Tibbetts filed for a seat on the Boothbay Region Water District Board of Trustees for his expired term; and Susann Hochstein filed for a trustee seat on Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor Cemetery District's board for her expired term.
Voting for the officers will be held at the Boothbay Harbor Fire Station May 1 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Town meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. May 2 at the fire station, where the officers will be sworn in.
