Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: 2 arrests
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 279 calls for service for the period of June 2 to June 9, 2026. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 5,369 calls for service.
Summonses
Lincoln R. Herschel, 29, of Rumford was issued a summons June 3 for Sexual Misconduct with a Child under 14 years; Sexual Exploitation of Minor and Possession of Sexually Explicit Material of a Minor, after an investigation into an incident, which occurred in Lincoln County, by Detective Jared Mitkus.
Derek A. Leigh, 41, of Washington was issued a summons June 7 for Theft by Unauthorized Use of Property, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy Brandon Maciuba.
Arrests
Zacharia A. Matthews, 36, of Saco was arrested June 2 for Dissemination of Sexually Explicit Material; Visual Sexual Aggression against a Child; Sexual Misconduct with a Child under 14 years; Sexual Exploitation of Minor and Possession of Sexually Explicit Material of Minor, after an investigation into an incident, which occurred in Lincoln County, by Det. Jared Mitkus, who was assisted by Det. Matthew Ryan and officers from the Saco Police Department.
Alan L. Beaucage, 49, of Alna was arrested June 5 for Violating a Protection Order and Violating Condition of Release, after an incident which occurred on 06/04/26, based on an investigation by Deputy Jerold Winslow. Mr. Beaucage was also charged with another offense of Violating a Protection Order and Violating Condition of Release, after a separate incident on 06/05/26, by Deputy Brandon Maciuba.
Accidents
On June 4, an accident occurred on River Road in Newcastle involving Conor R. Jones, 19, of Jefferson. Mr. Jones was operating his 2005 GMC 2500 southbound when a deer came into the roadway in front of him and was struck, causing driver’s side damage. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On June 4, an accident occurred on Jefferson Road in Whitefield involving Raymond E. Peaslee, 70, of Jefferson. Mr. Peaslee was operating his 2013 Honda Civic eastbound when a deer entered the roadway in front of him and was struck, causing driver’s side damage. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On June 4, an accident occurred on US Route 1 in Nobleboro involving Connor A. Burnham, 23, of Bremen and Colleen Vickers, 61, of Friendship. Mr. Burnham had stopped his 2018 Chevrolet Silverado at a stop sign at Back Meadow Road and Route 1. Ms. Vickers was operating her 2024 Ford Bronco northbound on Route 1 in traffic. Burnham started traveling across the intersection and struck Vickers’ vehicle. As a result, Vickers went off the roadway and rolled multiple times before coming to rest on its tires. Burnham stated a vehicle was turning right off of Route 1, blocking his field of view. Sgt. Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.
On June 7, an accident occurred on Route 1 (bridge) in Edgecomb involving Eric C. Dionne, 53, of Woolwich and Lalinda K. Waldrop, 57, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Mr. Dionne was operating his 2011 Hyundai Elantra southbound across the Wiscasset Bridge when he got distracted when his phone fell from his hands free holder and he leaned over to pick it up. As a result, his vehicle swerved across the center line and struck Ms. Waldrop’s 2022 Sunsee travel trailer. Dionne struck the trailer in the rear driver’s corner, causing a glancing blow, which caused significant damage to the trailer. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
