Join the Eco Art Show: Your vision, our planet
Are you passionate about the environment? Do you want to help do something for the planet? Do you love expressing yourself through art—or willing to try for the first time? The Boothbay Region Climate Action Team (BRCAT) wants your art.
BRCAT is excited to announce a call for submissions to an upcoming Eco Art Show, opening May 24 upstairs at the Boothbay Region Art Foundation. Entry is free. The show will be open to the public and run through the end of June. Whether you consider yourself an artist or simply want to join in the creative fun, you are invited to share your perspective and perhaps inspire concern for the environment and action for our planet.
This is for anyone ages teen thru adult and was conceived by the BRCAT Student Leadership Team. These local and regional students initiated the Eco Art Show as a way to raise awareness of Climate and Environmental Issues. The Eco Art Show is designed to be inclusive, welcoming both seasoned and less experienced artists as well as those exploring art for the very first time.
Artwork in any medium is accepted—painting, posters, collage, sculpture, mixed media, digital, photography, fiber, found objects, and more. Harness your creativity and let your imagination take flight. Eco Art is all about innovation and expression. Participants are encouraged to use every tool and material at their disposal, from brushes, paint, hammers and nails to glue, cut paper, and even their own fingers. Combine natural and recycled materials, experiment with textures, or bring together unexpected elements from your surroundings. The only limit is your imagination.
The Boothbay Region Climate Action Team is appreciative of the support of the Boothbay Region Art Foundation (BRAF), a community leader in fostering creative expression, which is providing space for the show. Their commitment makes it possible for artists and art lovers alike to share their talents. BRAF, with a mission of creating opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy, learn from and participate in the arts, has served as a cornerstone of artistic expression in the Midcoast Region for over 60 years.
Ready to join this creative and environmental movement? Bring your finished piece to the Boothbay Region Art Foundation (1 Townsend Ave., Boothbay Harbor) on May 20 or 21 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. For more details or questions, please contact BRclimate@gmail.com.
Be part of something bigger. Help us raise awareness, help the planet. We can’t wait to see your vision of the environment come alive. The Eco Art Show is not a competition but a celebration of creativity, community, and our shared home with the environment the winner. Whether you submit a piece, spread the word, or simply come to be inspired, you are part of the solution. Let’s make art—and a difference—together this May and June!
