Grow dahlias, feed neighbors in need: Veggies to Table launches annual Dahlia Tuber Sale
Veggies to Table has launched its annual Dahlia Tuber Sale, offering gardeners in Maine and across the country the opportunity to grow beautiful blooms while helping provide fresh, healthy food to community members experiencing hunger.
Supporters can shop unique dahlia varieties straight from the farm and shipped anywhere in the United States, or pick up their orders locally in Maine and Massachusetts this spring. The sale directly supports Veggies to Table’s mission to end local hunger while growing and sharing fresh organic produce and flowers with community members experiencing hunger and in need of joy. The nonprofit distributes thousands of pounds of fresh food each year to local food pantries and neighbors facing food insecurity.
“Growing dahlias has long been a joy here at Veggies to Table” said Erica Berman, executive director and co-rounder of Veggies to Table. “Sharing our favorite dahlia varieties from the farm with gardeners around the country helps us continue providing nourishing food to members of our community who need it most.”
