Dear Editor:

This letter is written in response to a newspaper article about a special Boothbay Selectmen's meeting Tuesday, March 24 at 5 p.m. in the Boothbay town hall. The meeting was a hearing regarding Jody Lewis' fitness to remain on the BRRDD board. The newspaper article was posted online Thursday, March 26 at 6 a.m. The article contained misleading and confusing information and was removed Friday morning by request.

For those of you who happened to have read the online article, at no point did I "divulge" any information regarding the ongoing FBI investigation involving the BRRDD.

I have lived and worked in this community for over 50 years and it was sad to see a hardworking volunteer forced to defend himself for no apparent good reason. Sensationalist reporting has no place in our community.
