The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 205 calls for service for the period of March 17 to March 24. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 2,816 calls for service.
Summonses
Christopher M. Herald, 64, of Damariscotta was issued a summons March 18 for Attaching False Plates, on Augusta Road, Jefferson, by Deputy Ethan Burns.
Lori A. Sullivan, 61, of Whitefield was issued a summons March 22 for Criminal Trespass, on Mills Road, Whitefield, by Deputy Brandon Maciuba.
Arrest
David A. Morton, 56, of Whitefield was arrested March 17 for Gross Sexual Assault, on Head Tide Road, Whitefield, by Detective Justin Drake.
Accidents
On March 17, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Ruth D. Alley, 81, of Boothbay. Ms. Alley was operating her 2022 Lexus ES southbound when multiple deer ran out in front of her vehicle. Ms. Alley stopped her vehicle, but a lagging deer ran into the side of her, causing a small dent in the driver’s door and a small dent in the back left passenger door. Deputy Jeffrey Rogers was the investigating officer.
On March 18, an accident occurred on State Route 129 in South Bristol involving Cardea Wells, 42, of Portland. Mr. Wells was operating his 2023 Peterbilt 536 northbound when he pulled off the roadway on the right and got sucked into the mud. Wells attempted to back out of the mud and struck a CMP pole. He attempted to get unstuck and came to final rest north of the telephone pole. Deputy Kasey Doyle was the investigating officer.
On March 20, an accident occurred on River Road in Dresden involving Bradford J. Mullins, 62, of Richmond. Mr. Mullins was operating his 2020 Dodge 1500 southbound when a deer ran into the roadway in front of him and was struck, causing front end damage. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On March 21, an accident occurred on State Route 32 in Bristol involving Dawn M. Dancer, 42, of Waldoboro. Ms. Dancer was operating her 2016 Subaru Forester southbound and she advised she was adjusting her music when she came upon a sharp curve in the road. Dancer lost control of her vehicle, left the roadway on the right side, struck and snapped a CMP pole, before partially overturning and coming to rest on the passenger side of her vehicle. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On March 21, an accident occurred on Waldoboro Road in Jefferson involving Robert M. Daniels, 57, of Richmond. Mr. Daniels was operating his 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound when he advised he fell asleep. As a result, his vehicle went off the roadway on the right and struck an embankment, causing undercarriage damage and side airbags to deploy. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On March 22, an accident occurred on Academy Hill in Newcastle involving Jane P. Dunstan, 73, of Newcastle and Stanley J. Benner, 79, of Bristol. Ms. Dunstan was traveling northbound on Academy Hill Road in her 2024 Subaru Forester and Mr. Benner was operating his 2018 Ford Fusion southbound on Academy Hill Road. It was snowing and the roads were snow covered. Dunstan advised she lost traction on the snowy roads, which caused her to cross the center line and strike Benner’s vehicle in the driver’s side. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
