MaineDOT seeks Route 27 sidewalk feedback
Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) is looking for feedback on proposed sidewalk improvements along Route 27 in Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor. The agency has created an online public meeting to provide information about the project and receive public comments.
The project will extend the sidewalk along Route 27 for over half a mile and onto Back River Road, according to MaineDOT. This is the second phase of the project, first started in 2021. MaineDOT anticipates construction to begin in 2026 or 2027 and estimates a total cost of $1.22 million.
The website includes a project presentation, maps and images. MaineDOT said it is interested in learning about local views, resources and concerns. The website also includes a voluntary demographic survey. The public meeting page can be found at: https://tinyurl.com/5d94acz7
The comment period is open from Feb. 24 to March 10.
