Sheriffs arrested three on drug charge
Three people were arrested and charged with Aggravated Trafficking of Scheduled Drugs into the Midcoast.
At about 2:20 a.m. on Thursday Feb. 19, acting on a credible tip from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a pickup traveling northbound on Route One in Newcastle. The tip stated people in the vehicle were bringing a large amount of fentanyl and cocaine to be distributed locally.
A LCSO K9 team arrived and the K9 “Bear” quickly alerted on the illegal substances. A search of the car and suspects seized 216 grams of fentanyl and 163 grams of cocaine. The estimated street value of these drugs is about $37,900.00.
Jessica Fratello, age 46, of Union, Khyllie Weaver, age 21, of Thomaston and Divine Devonish, age 27, of New York City, were all arrested and charged with Aggravated Trafficking of Scheduled Drugs, Class A. All three were taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. Devonish later posted bail pending a later court date. Weaver and Fratello are still being held pending the posting of a $400 cash bail or an appearance in court.
