Boothbay Planning Board approves 2 applications
The Boothbay Planning Board approved two applications Feb. 18 regarding a new yoga studio and rebuilding a recreational pier. Savannah Fields sought a change of use for the former Merrill Chiropratic Office at 21 Common Drive. Fields requested the change of use from a business office to an appointment-based wellness studio. The board approved her request, 5-0, without any conditions.
Fields will operate the new business, Three Bears Boothbay, LLC. The property is owned by Elizabeth and Anthony Finocchiaro, Gretchen and Sarah Lauriat and the Rachel Graham Life Estate. Fields told the board, no exterior alterations, site modifications, or expansion of the building's footprint are proposed.
Her operations would be limited to three clients at a time. The business would include seasonal scheduling adjustments based on client demand. The property is in a Boothbay Village Center district and watershed protection overlay zone. Fields expects to open her business in May.
The board also approved a request to rebuild a recreational pier on Tavenner Road. Sarah Weatherbee, a Flycatcher LLC consultant, represented Jonathan and Maureen Fellows of Cazenovia, New York. The property is in a coastal residential, residential and shoreland overlay zone.
The board held the first of two required meetings on a subdivision application. Henry and Regine Poirier of Rockville, Maryland want to create a four-lot subdivision on their Peaceful Acres Drive property. Nicholas Plumer of Boothbay Region Surveyors represented the Poiriers. The property is in a rural mixed use district and watershed protection zone overlay zone.
The board meets next at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 4 in the conference room.
