Your ‘primary’ responsibility
Nobody's making you vote.
But we hope you make yourself take the time. Have a say and then, no matter who is elected, or who is nominated via a primary, or which way an issue goes June 9, you will have done your best to help make the outcome whatever you felt it should be.
Whoever votes differently from you, good for them for voting. And, if you don't take the time to vote, they are miles ahead of you in helping decide what happens next. And all your views, however right they are, just sit there, not helping the town, state, or nation do what you think would move the needle in the right direction.
If you don't vote, you don't risk having hitched your wagon to a losing star. But there you will be, with a still unhitched wagon.
Choose your star (go with your conscience — it's your best self), hitch your wagon to that star and see where it takes you, including seeing how many other people ended up hitching their wagons to it, too.
Week's positive parting thought: Wiscasset graduates the Class of 2026 this Thursday night, June 4 at 6 in Stover Auditorium at Wiscasset Middle High School. The more people in the audience, the louder the applause the graduates receive.
