Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: 3 arrests
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 321 calls for service for the period of June 16 to June 23. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 6,002 calls for service.
Arrests
Theodore E. Poland, 58, of Nobleboro was arrested June 19 on a Knox County warrant for Failure to Appear, on Station Road, Newcastle, by Deputy Brandon Maciuba.
Jason A. Northrop, 49, of South Glastonbury, Connecticut was arrested June 19 for Operating while License is Suspended or Revoked – OUI, on Main Street, Newcastle, by Deputy Nathaniel Aronson.
Issac M. Monroe-Gipson, 25, of Dresden was arrested June 22 for Aggravated Assault; Terrorizing; Reckless Conduct; Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention; Endangering the Welfare of a Child; Obstructing Report of Crime and Violating Condition of Release, on Taryn Drive, Dresden, by Deputy Caleb Poirier.
Accidents
On June 17, an accident occurred on Indian Road in Dresden involving Kristina N. Forsythe, 25, of Dresden. Ms. Forsythe was operating her 2020 Chevrolet Equinox southbound when she advised a hornet entered through the open window and she tried to slap at it and lost control of her vehicle, causing her to go off the roadway on the right and strike some trees. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On June 17, an accident occurred on N. Clary Road in Jefferson involving Valerie S. Chase, 28, of Augusta. Ms. Chase was operating her 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound when her vehicle went off the roadway to the right and drove down into a ditch. Her vehicle then hit a large tree, which pushed it into the telephone pole that was roadside, causing it to split. Deputy Ethan Burns was the investigating officer.
On June 17, an accident occurred on Academy Hill in Newcastle involving William A. Weary, 83, of Newcastle and Priscilla C. Glendinning, 74, of South Bristol. Mr. Weary was operating his 2019 Audi A8L southbound on Academy Hill Road when Ms. Glendinning backed her 2022 Nissan Frontier out of her driveway and struck Weary’s vehicle. Deputy Jerold Winslow was the investigating officer.
On June 17, an accident occurred on Waldoboro Road in Bremen involving Robert E. Kaler, 56, of Bremen and Darrell Olsen, 59, of Bremen. Mr. Kaler was operating his 2016 Toyota Camry southbound when he went off the roadway to the right, crossed a lawn and struck Mr. Olsen’s 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, which was unoccupied and parked in a driveway. Mr. Kaler’s vehicle then crashed into a rock wall, located at Mr. Olsen’s address. Deputy Ethan Burns was the investigating officer.
On June 17, an accident occurred on Valley Road in Jefferson involving Grace C. Brodeur, 22, of Newcastle. Ms. Brodeur was operating her 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan southbound when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. Sgt. Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.
On June 19, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Randy Coles, 39, of Bristol. Mr. Coles was operating his 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe northbound when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle. Deputy Jerold Winslow was the investigating officer.
On June 20, an accident occurred on Main Street in Newcastle involving Alice M. Skiff, 22, of Newcastle and Beth Sewall, 36, of Newcastle. Ms. Skiff was operating her 2012 Kia Soul behind Ms. Sewall’s 2020 Toyota 4Runner, both vehicles were traveling southbound, when Sewall slowed in traffic and Skiff ran into the back of Sewall’s vehicle. Sgt. Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
