Original musical opens at Carousel Aug. 5
Coming soon to the Carousel Music Theater is “All American Road Trip” featuring music from or about the different regions of our nation. We are especially proud of this production as it was written by Garrett Carter, BRHS class of 2013. This locally written and produced show features songs from the Rat Pack to Broadway and everything in between.
Annie (Madison Mintzer) dreams of making it big in NYC but her mother (Emma Murphy) has huge concerns about Annie’s choice. Annie’s father, Rodger (Cavonte Green), wants one last family road trip before taking Annie to NYC. Along the way, they meet some interesting locals played by Elena Tarpley and Meredith Charbonnet. Why is Shirley, Annie’s mother, so concerned about her daughter going to NYC? You will have to come see the show to find out that mystery.
An evening at the Carousel, hosted by our charming and friendly cast, will go like this…as you sip on a specially crafted beverage and enjoy your meal from our new menu, the talented cast will entertain you with a lively cabaret featuring the best music from Broadway, Hollywood, and beyond. Selections from composers such as Irving Berlin, Noel Coward, and Howard Arlen, or marvelous singers of the 1940s-80s such as Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Patsy Cline, and the Andrews Sisters could be featured. And last, but not least, watch as the curtain goes up on our cast of young performers who will sing and dance their way into your hearts in an original review created just for your trip to The Carousel, featuring music you know and love. Now, sit back and enjoy the show!
“All American Road Trip” opens on Aug. 5 through 27. Join us for an evening dinner performance on Tuesday, Friday, or Saturday at 6:30 p.m. or a matinee lunch performance on Wednesday at noon. We have random Sunday and Thursday shows for incoming tour coaches; please check our website for dates and tickets at carouselmusictheater.org
