Lincoln County Sheriff's Office: 2 arrests
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 402 calls for service for the period of July 22 to July 29. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 8,257 calls for service.
Arrests
Corey C. Colfer, 34, of Dresden was arrested July 27 for Domestic Violence Assault, on Carriage Court, Dresden, by Deputy Nathaniel Aronson.
Michael L. Percy, 39, of Warren was arrested July 27 for Operating under the Influence, on US Route 1, Nobleboro, by Deputy Nathaniel Aronson.
Accidents
On July 22, an accident occurred on River Road in Edgecomb involving David K. Chubbuck, 51, of Wiscasset. Mr. Chubbuck was operating his 2025 Chevrolet 1500 westbound when a deer ran in front of him. Mr. Chubbuck struck the deer, causing front end damage. Deputy Jeffrey Rogers was the investigating officer.
On July 22, an accident occurred on US Route 1 in Nobleboro involving Faith L. Whitsit, 36, of Waldoboro; Brandon T. Henny, 51, of Nobleboro and Robert T. Gabriel, 78, of Raymond, New Hampshire. Ms. Whitsit was operating her 2012 Toyota Camry northbound and did not see Mr. Henny, also traveling northbound in his 2022 Ford F250, waiting to turn left into 61 US Route 1. Mr. Henny attempted to speed up to get out of the way but was unsuccessful. As a result, Ms. Whitsit struck Henny’s vehicle then went across the center line, striking Mr. Gabriel’s 2019 Toyota Highlander, which was traveling southbound. Deputy Ethan Burns was the investigating officer.
On July 22, an accident occurred on Hardwick Road in Boothbay involving Kristen M. Brooks, 36, of Boothbay and Faye A. Hemingway, 66, of Lakeland, Florida. Ms. Brooks was operating her 2020 Dodge 2500 southbound in the area of Hardwick Road, in heavy traffic, which was stop and go. Ms. Hemingway was also traveling southbound in her 2023 Jeep, in front of Brooks’ vehicle, when Ms. Brooks collided with the rear of Hemingway’s vehicle, which was stopped in traffic. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
On July 23, an accident occurred on Main Road on Westport Island involving Russell J. Sullivan, 76, of Rotonda West, Florida. Mr. Sullivan was operating his 2023 Kia southbound when a deer entered the roadway and struck the passenger door of his vehicle, causing damage. Deputy Brandon Maciuba was the investigating officer.
On July 24, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Troy F. Gauthier, 44, of Boothbay and Devyn W. Campbell, 24, of Boothbay Harbor. Mr. Gauthier was traveling southbound in his 2012 Honda Civic, when he stopped in traffic waiting to make a left turn. Mr. Campbell was operating his 1995 Ford F150 behind Gauthier’s vehicle when his brakes gave out, causing his vehicle to not be able to stop, resulting in Campbell striking the rear of Gauthier’s vehicle. Deputy Samuel Alexander was the investigating officer.
On July 25, an accident occurred on Alna Road in Alna involving Samuel Calagione, 25, of Lewes, Delaware. Mr. Calagione was operating his 2017 Chrysler Pacifica southbound when a deer entered the roadway from the right and struck the center passenger side, causing functional damage. Deputy Samuel Alexander was the investigating officer.
On July 27, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Benjamin Ellinwood, 48, of Newcastle and Catharine M. Brooks, 35, of Richmond. Mr. Ellinwood came out of Ellinwood Foundations/Rock Solid Storage (heading eastbound in his 2017 Hino truck) onto Route 1. A dolly on the flatbed of his vehicle was not fully secured and came off the truck, landing in the roadway. Ms. Brooks was operating her 2017 Honda CR-V eastbound and was unable to avoid the dolly and struck it, causing front end and undercarriage damage to her vehicle. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
