New exhibit at River Arts features artists and artisans
A festive “Celebration” exhibition fills River Arts in Damariscotta this season. The gallery is filled with fine art and fine craft created by Maine artists, offering a wealth of inspiring options for meaningful holiday gifts. This expansive showcase features the work of over 135 artists and includes more than 350 pieces.
“Celebration” invites visitors to support local artists and crafters by choosing unique, affordable artwork for holiday giving.
An opening reception for “Celebration” will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. Guests can meet many of the artists and enjoy an uplifting afternoon of inspiring art and fine craft, friendly conversation, light refreshments, and holiday spirit.
There’s truly something for everyone -- oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, mixed media, and alco-hol ink paintings, along with fine craft, fiber arts, textiles, ceramics, sculpture, collage, wood-work, photography, jewelry, glass and assemblage pieces.
It’s an ideal chance to bring home -- or gift -- a special work of art, with nothing exceeding $500. “Celebration” runs through Dec. 31.
River Arts is located at 36 Elm Street Plaza. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. For more information, call 563-6868 or visit riverartsme.org.
