Hallowell Community Band strums for another summer
Fri, 07/11/2025 - 3:00pm
For more than 50 years, the Hallowell Community Band has come to the Boothbay Region for its annual summer series, kicking off with a concert at Waterfront Park on the Fourth of July. The almost 80-year-old troupe will perform a new set every Thursday at 7 p.m on the library lawn until Sept. 4.
Their July 10 concert saw selections from the Broadway show “The Music Man,” Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline,” and pieces from Maine composers, among others. Taking advantage of the prime downtown location, the crowd slowly grew as passersby were drawn in. Foot tapping, hand clapping and recording abounded.
The band’s next concert is July 17. Bring your own chairs or blankets!
