Giles sisters return from Nationals
Grace Giles and Valerie Giles have returned from Minnesota and the National Special Olympics Games victorious!
It’s been many years of team play and a year of nearly weekly practices of soccer for Grace to prepare for the Nationals. The Maine Soccer team struggled at the beginning of their week at the Nationals to get their rhythm. They played New Jersey and Florida but then, they played Utah and Colorado and were scoring well, but not enough. During the finals they were able to win which put them squarely in 4th place.
Valerie won one game in each of her tennis sets prior to the finals. She played North Carolina, Texas, Colorado and Delaware. Then she played Virginia and New Jersey in the semi finals and won a second against South Carolina in the finals.
It was a great week and such a celebration. Lots of things to do and fun. They meet many new people and made a bunch of friends.
