American Legion to serve breakfast on Sunday
Are you ready for breakfast? Well, if it’s Sunday, breakfast is ready for you at the American Legion Hall in Boothbay.
The folks running the American Legion breakfasts learned a valuable lesson this spring. They tried moving the Sunday breakfasts to Saturdays. That idea is now filed under “live and learn.”
The Sunday breakfast buffet is back. On Father’s Day, 100 hungry people came for breakfast. There were several family groups as well as folks from the nearby campground.
A crew of smiling volunteers serves traditional delicious breakfast dishes including scrambled eggs, pancakes, toast, sausages, bacon, hash browns, baked beans, waffles and fruit, with coffee, tea, OJ and water.
The breakfasts will continue on alternating Sundays from now until November, from 7:30 to 9:30 on July 5 and 19, Aug. 2, 16 and 30, Sept. 13 and 27, Oct. 11 and 25 and Nov.8. The donation has been cut from $15 to $10. Kids 11 and under eat for $5. Little ones under 6 eat free.
The Charles E. Sherman post, American Legion Hall is at 25 Industrial Park Road in Boothbay near the Railway Village.
