Warm your heart with ‘Frozen JR’ at BRHS Nov. 14 and 15
Disney’s “Frozen JR.” is playing at Boothbay Region High SchoolonFriday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 15 at 2 and 5 p.m.
The spectacular, 60+ minute musical is based on the 2013 Disney film and the 2018 Broadway adaptation. The high school cast is led by Dr. Mary Miller and Mrs. Susie Taylor. Backstagecrew is Jayden Coulombe, Addie Barter and John Cooper. Poster by Chau Nguyen.
According to Miller, this show was chosen, in part, to experiment with digital projections, as they are the new (actually, not so new) backdrops for shows. This type of “fairytale” lends itself well to this type of scenery, and she is excited to bring it to the show. Of course, there is also the student appeal. This year, it has been especially hard to work around all the students that play sports…but we have persevered, and the show will be, as usual, a lot of fun, thanks to the hard work of everyone.
Do you want to build a snowman? You’ll love this fanciful and heartwarming stage adaptation of the top-grossing animated film of all time! Join Anna (Sophia Mansfield), Elsa (Natalie Flagg), Olaf (Aubrey Holmes), Kristoff (Titan Lewis), Sven (Frida Kirchhauser), Holken (Aryana Gray), Young and middle Elsa (Samantha Colby), Young and Middle Anna (Allison Smart), The Bishop (Jayden Coulombe), King and Queen of Arendelle (Casey Phelps and Frida Kirchhauser), Babbie and Bulda (Anabel Fanslau and MacKenzie Thyen), and rounding out ensemble parts are Chloe Joneth, Aryana Gray, Sammy Colby, McKayla Fairservice, Chau Nguyen, MckenzieThyen, and Isabel Fanslau as they embark on an epic, ice-filled journey of self-discovery, camaraderie, and the real meaning of true love. Adapted for young performers, this musical includes favorite Frozen songs such as “Love Is an Open Door,” “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?,” and “Let It Go,” as well as wonderful new songs from the Broadway production.
