Martin W. Farmer
Martin “Marty” Wade Farmer, 60, of Woolwich, Maine, passed away on Dec. 4, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Brunswick, Maine, Marty grew up with a strong work ethic and a determination that shaped his life. After working 12 years at Bath Iron Works, he founded the Martin Farmer Building and Construction Company, where he took great pride in the quality of his work and the relationships he built with customers and colleagues.
Marty was predeceased by his parents, Royal and Mary Farmer, and his brother, Mike Farmer.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Elizabeth “Libby” Farmer of Woolwich and his beloved children: Kristy Farmer and her children Mak, Abbi, Delilah, and Ashlynn; Rick Alexander and his wife Danielle; Miranda Weathers and her husband Larry, their son Logan; Jacob Farmer and his wife Danielle, their children Alaina and Brayden; Alexia Alexander, her son Link; Mardi Farmer, her husband Clarence and their son Theo; and his bonus son, Ryan Martin.
Marty is also survived by his stepmother, Rita MacElman; his brother, Mark Farmer; his sisters, Deborah Caron, Barbara Bowley, her husband Bud, Pamela Sodergren, her husband Frank, Kelley Favreau, her husband Paul, and several nieces and nephews.
Family was at the center of Marty’s life. He found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved, especially sharing four-wheeler and dirt bike rides with his grandchildren, enjoying quiet days fishing and hunting, and soaring through the sky with his private pilot’s license. His adventurous spirit, big heart, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Marty’s legacy lives on in the laughter of his grandchildren, the craftsmanship in the homes he built, and the countless memories held close by his family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. at the Brunswick Elks club.
