Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Found rifle and five accidents
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 236 calls for service for the period of Dec. 2 to Dec. 9. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 13,631 calls for service.
On Dec. 8, a citizen notified the Sheriff’s Office that he found a muzzle loader rifle in the parking area on Reach Road, Newcastle. The firearm was secured by Deputy Nathan Yeaton and placed into evidence, pending an owner coming forward. Summonses
Naomi L. Luce, 49, of Whitefield was issued a summons Dec. 5 for Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer (priors), on State Route 129, South Bristol, by Sgt. Scott Hayden.
Charles E. Stewart, 68, of Westport Island was issued a summons Dec. 6 for Operating while License is Suspended or Revoked, on Hardwick Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Caleb Poirier.
Sierra McLean, 31, of Dresden was issued a summons Dec. 7 for Leaving Scene of Motor Vehicle Accident, on Pittston Road, Whitefield, by Deputy Nathan Yeaton.
Arrest
Byrlynne M. Ellis, 46, of Damariscotta was arrested Dec. 5 for Violating Condition of Release (x6) and Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention, on Main Street, Damariscotta, by Deputy Brandon Maciuba.
Accidents
On Dec. 2, an accident occurred on East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving Matthew G. Desgrosseilliers, 34, of Whitefield. Mr. Desgrosseilliers was operating his 2013 Chevrolet Silverado southbound when he lost traction, slid off the road to the right, down an embankment and rolled over. Damage to multiple areas from the rollover, including the bed. Deputy Jeffrey Rogers was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 2, an accident occurred on Cedar Grove Road in Dresden involving Alicia Greene, 26, of Belmont. Ms. Greene was operating her 2017 Subaru Crosstrek westbound when she failed to negotiate a turn and went off the roadway, where she struck a sign before entering a ditch. Sgt. Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 3, an accident occurred on US Route 1 in Nobleboro involving Sherry L. Moody, 55, of Dresden. Ms. Moody was operating her 2024 Mazda 3 southbound when a deer entered the roadway and struck the front passenger side of her vehicle, causing disabling damage. Deputy Brandon Maciuba was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 4, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Timothy L. Barton, 78, of Woolwich. Mr. Barton was operating his 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound when he encountered deer in the roadway. One deer struck the front of his vehicle and was deceased at the scene. Sgt. Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 4, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Zachary E. Daniello, 21, of Thomaston and Jason L. Moniz, 42, of Woolwich. Mr. Moniz was stopped in traffic for a construction crew on US 1 northbound, in his 2010 Toyota Tundra. Mr. Daniello was approaching behind Moniz’s vehicle in his 2023 GMC Sierra and failed to stop, striking Moniz’s vehicle in the passenger side rear. Daniello’s vehicle suffered disabling damage and was towed and Moniz’s vehicle suffered minor damage and was driven from the scene. Deputy Nathaniel Aronson was the investigating officer.
