Too much fun?
Dear Editor:
I’m writing to express my profound disappointment with the canceling of the Cap’n Fish Sunday Reggae Cruise. For over 30 years my family and I have been repeat customers on this uniquely fabulous music cruise. I live in Atlanta, Georgia now, but I was born and raised in the Great State of Maine and I return several times a year.
In the summer my wife and I, along with our adult kids, grandkids and other family members always look forward to the cruise. We’ve met people on the boat from all over the world. The vibe is incredibly uplifting- from the music to the view and the people onshore cheering as we pass. It’s a beautiful thing.
Boothbay Harbor has changed a lot over the years and I’ve come to accept the good with bad, but this decision makes no sense. It must have been a moneymaker for the owners. Is it too much liability, is it too expensive to operate, or is it too much fun?
I’ll never understand.
