Michael James Breen passed away of natural causes at their family home in Boothbay Harbor, Maine on June 9, 2025. 

Michael was born Sept. 8, 1951, in North Adams, Massachusetts to James and Reinee (Ouellette) Breen.  

He was the eldest of their five children all raised on Massachusetts Avenue in North Adams.  

Michael attended schools in North Adams and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School with the class of 1969.  Michael attended Stockbridge School, University of Massachusetts and North Adams State College.  

Michael leaves his wife of 52 years Valerie (King) and sons Christopher (Merrie) and Patrick (Mary).  He also leaves his siblings Peter (MaryEllen), Holly (Greg), James (Mary), and was preceded in death his brother John (Tami); several nieces, nephews and many cousins. 

Michael and his wife were proprietors of Breen’s Flowers and Gifts in Bennington, Vermont until they moved to Maine.
