Lincoln County Sheriff's Office: Two arrests
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 408 calls for service for the period of Aug. 5 to Aug. 12. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 9,055 calls for service.
Summonses
A 16-year-old male juvenile from Oakland was issued a summons Aug. 6 for Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer, by the Oakland Police Department, on behalf of Deputy Kasey Doyle, after an investigation into an incident that occurred in Edgecomb.
Harrison T. Kappler, 34, of Trevett was issued a summons Aug. 7 for Leaving Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident, on Cross Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Jeffrey Rogers.
Randy P. Lewis, 35, of Dresden was issued summonses Aug. 7 for Leaving Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident and Failing to Make Oral or Written Accident Report, on Blinn Hill Road, Dresden, by Deputy Brendon Maciuba, who was assisted by Deputies Kasey Doyle and Jerold Winslow.
Arrests
Steve R. French, 55, of Vassalboro was arrested Aug. 5 on a Waldo County warrant for Theft – Class C, on Bath Road, Wiscasset, by Detective Jared Mitkus.
Kenneth J. Swift, 53, of Whitefield was arrested Aug. 5 for Failure to Comply Sex Offender Registration Act – 2nd Offense, on Hilton Road, Whitefield, by Detective Justin Drake.
Accidents
On Aug. 6, an accident occurred on Rockland Road in Jefferson involving Karen M. Allen, 42, of Augusta. Ms. Allen was operating her 2013 Mazda 3 eastbound when a deer jumped a guardrail and struck her vehicle. Deputy Ethan Burns was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 7, an accident occurred on Blinn Hill Road in Dresden involving Randy P. Lewis, 35, of Dresden. Mr. Lewis was operating his 2011 Chevrolet Malibu in the southbound lane when he lost control of his vehicle. As a result, his vehicle exited the roadway to the right and went into a ditch. Mr. Lewis attempted to reenter the roadway and could not exit the ditch. His vehicle then became engulfed in flames. Deputy Brandon Maciuba was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 8, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Elizabeth Anne J. Ullrich, 68, of East Boothbay and Rachel G. Fullmer, 22, of Hallowell. Ms. Fullmer was operating her 1999 Pontiac southbound and Ms. Ullrich was starting in traffic and re-entering the roadway from a driveway in her 2011 Subaru Legacy, when she failed to yield the right of way to Fullmer’s vehicle. As a result, Ullrich struck Fullmer’s vehicle in the driver’s side rear quarter panel. Deputy Mark Fortin was the investigating officer.
