John-Russell Hibbard, born Sept. 11, 2002, in Brunswick, Maine, residing in Lisbon Falls, Maine, tragically taken from us on May 2, 2021 in an automobile accident.

The son of John A. Hibbard and Melanie L. Hibbard, John Russell was a lover not a fighter as he found out when he tried football discovering hitting people was not for him. He did love basketball. He graduated Lisbon High June 2020 and completed the automotive program at Lewiston Regional Tech earning his inspection license. At 18, started with Walmart.

He loved spending time with family and friends; he loved to goof around making everyone smile and laugh. This made him truly happy. John lit up a room like sunshine with his boisterous laugh that will never be forgotten. He was a lovable, gentle giant who gave the best hugs like a 6’6” teddy bear. John loved bon fires with friends, outings with family and four-wheeling with his father. He loved online gaming with his older brother Matt and his online gaming friends. He was fulfilling his dream of travel when God had a greater plan for him in Heaven. This wonderful light will be truly missed.

He is survived by his parents: John A Hibbard of Lisbon Falls and Melanie L. Hibbard of Edgecomb plus his best friend and sister, Kathryn Hibbard of Edgecomb. His surviving siblings: Nicholas J. Hibbard of Georgia, Noah J. Hibbard of Kentucky, Matthew L. Williams of Phippsburg, Alexander V. Hibbard of Lisbon Falls, Simon M. Hibbard of Edgecomb, Elizabeth L. Hibbard of Georgia. Grandparents: Lenora and Raymond Stone of Sabbattus, Bonnie and Craig Lewis of Boothbay. Great-grandparents: Kay and Russell Kennedy of West Forks, John W. Hibbard (deceased), Leighton and Helen Davis, and Vincent and Hilda Lewis. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at the Boothbay America Legion Hall (aka Boothbay Regional Community Center), 25 Industrial Park Drive, Boothbay, ME on May 22, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. followed by time to visit and share memories.
