                                                                   Museum to Host Paddy Mills Concert Opening Weekend

Folk singer/songwriter Paddy Mills will celebrate the season opener of the Sail, Power, & Steam Museum in Rockland with a concert Saturday, May 2, at 7 pm.

 An award-winning folksinger/songwriter, Paddy’s songs are as salty as the Maine coast he calls home. He has been spinning yarns and singing his tunes throughout New England and beyond for more than 25 years, wearing a hole into the top of his guitar while collecting stories, songs and friends along the way. He grew up a "wharf rat" in the small fishing village of Owl's Head, and his songs are anchored to the imagery, characters, and traditions of coastal Maine.

 In Paddy has won numerous prizes: the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival Songwriting Contest, as well as the Rosegarden Coffeehouse Performing Songwriter Competition.

 His album “Race to the Bottom” reached #6 on the Roots Music Report and #12 on the Folk DJ list; he’s won the South Florida Folk Festival Singer-Songwriter Competition; The Mid Atlantic Song Contest; and, the CT Folk Grassy Hill Song Competition.

 “We’re thrilled to have Paddy join us for our first concert of the season,” said museum co-founder Capt. Jim Sharp. “We’re always thrilled that Paddy Mills plays here at the museum.  It’s a concert not to be missed!”

Located at 75 Mechanic Street on the shores of Rockland Harbor, the Sail Power and Steam Museum’s mission is to celebrate, honor, experience, and share the story of Maine’s maritime heritage.
