Deborah A. Phinney
Deborah Ann Phinney, 72, died April 27, 2026 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Deborah was born May 4, 1953 in Everett, Massachusetts to Herbert King and Ella Spencer King. She grew up in Everett and graduated from Everett Vocational High School in the class of 1972.
Her working career began at Hisele’s Factory in Chelsea, Massachusetts making wrapping paper. She later worked at Prudential Life Insurance in Boston, and lastly at Stop-N-Shop in Everett. She married Raymond Phinney and lived in Everett. Deborah and Raymond moved to Boothbay Harbor, Maine where Raymond grew up.
Deborah was very active with her knitting, crocheting and sewing groups who sold their crafts on the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library lawn for many years. Deborah was well known for having a good heart, and always welcoming to family and friends. She loved to hang out with her friends at the community room at Bay Landing in Boothbay Harbor. Deborah adored and loved her great nieces, Jazmine and Mackenzie. Deborah would call her family faithfully every day at three o’clock to check in and say hello, and tell them how much she loved them.
She was predeceased by her parents, and by her husband, Raymond Phinney.
In keeping with the kindness and generosity she showed throughout her life, Deborah gave the gift of life through organ donation. Through the donation of her liver and kidneys, her caring spirit will continue to help others in a meaningful and lasting way.
Deborah is survived by her brother, Richard King of Westport, Kentucky; nephew, Derek King and his wife Lisa of Westport, Kentucky; niece, Jenni Paragon and her husband Alan of Louisville, Kentucky; great nieces, Jazmine and MacKenzie Paragon of Louisville, Kentucky.
A celebration of Deborah’s life will be held at the Community Room at Bay Landing in Boothbay Harbor to be announced.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, 975 Wiscasset Road, Boothbay.
