Diabetes Support Group to focus on eye health
Changes in vision are a common concern for people living with diabetes. At MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital’s September Diabetes Support Group, Hannah Mishler, OD, will share how diabetes can impact eye health and what steps individuals can take to protect their sight.
This free session will be held Thursday, Sept. 26, from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. in the Webster Van Winkle Building at 79 Schooner Street in Damariscotta. Dr. Mishler will discuss eye conditions linked to diabetes, including diabetic retinopathy, macular edema and cataracts, and explain why blood sugar management plays a key role in preserving long-term vision.
Thegroup meets every other month and is open to anyone affected by diabetes, including family members. It provides a supportive space to learn, ask questions and connect with others.
