With so many Mainers unable to work during these difficult and uncertain times, many Maine families are experiencing food insecurity. The need has never been greater. Recognizing this great need and wanting to help, Paul Coulombe initiated a matching fund campaign drive with members of Boothbay Harbor Country Club.

The response was incredible! In less than two weeks $50,000 was raised and on Wednesday, April 15, Coulombe provided a $50,000 matching donation. At the time of this press release, a total of $101,415 was raised for the Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine.

“The outpouring of support from our members from all over the country to help the most vulnerable in Maine has been extraordinary,” said Coulombe. “To see our members come together during this great time of need is truly heartwarming. It’s a great feeling to be able provide the GSFB with $101,415 which will undoubtedly, have a tremendous positive impact on Maine families in need – including our neighbors on the Boothbay peninsula.”

“The generosity of the Boothbay Harbor Country Club’s members and employees, coupled with the generous matching support from Paul Coulombe will go a long way in helping us serve our most vulnerable during these unprecedented times,” said Kristen Miale, president of the Good Shepherd Food Bank. “Food is something so many of us take for granted, but thousands of our neighbors struggle to put enough nutritious food on their tables each week—and that struggle is now intensified as the coronavirus impacts Maine.”
