Dear Editor:

Charlotte Nutt is one of the most inspiring women I know. Yes, I’m quite biased: I’m very proud to be her sister-in-law.

Like most people who care deeply about politics, Auntie Shark (as my kids call her) has some eccentricities for sure. She practices aerial silks, she makes a mean curry tofu breakfast salad, she can survive in the wilderness or on the high seas almost indefinitely. Charlotte is hardcore and driven to an extent most people only ever dream of. She is relentlessly resilient in the face of everything life has thrown at her.

One thing most of us have in common with Charlotte is that Midcoast Maine is home, no matter where else in the world life takes us. Charlotte’s experiences living and working all over the world have given her the rare ability to connect with almost anyone and really hear their perspective - an essential skill for collaborating with 153 other legislators.

I am honored to vote for Charlotte in November and I can’t wait for her to show us what she’s capable of in Augusta!
