The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 306 calls for service for the period of Aug. 25 to Sept. 1. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 9,124 calls for service.

Accidents

On Aug. 26, an accident occurred on Head Tide Road in Alna involving Sandra M. Hinman, 71, of Alna and Warren L. Grant, 77, of New Harbor. Ms. Hinman was operating her 2010 Subaru Forrester eastbound on Head Tide Road and Mr. Grant, who was operating his 2010 Subaru Outback, was exiting a driveway onto Head Tide Road, also traveling eastbound. Hinman traveled over the rise in the road and encountered Grant’s vehicle crossing the lanes into the eastbound lane. Hinman took evasive action and pulled her vehicle to the right, thus riding into the soft shoulder and into a ditch, where a sign post was struck at the point of rest. Deputy Mark Fortin was the investigating officer.

On Aug. 27, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Connor A. Simmons, 24, of Cushing and Noah A. Plourde, 19, of Westport Island. Mr. Simmons was operating his 2024 GMC Sierra southbound and was slowing in traffic. Mr. Plourde was operating his 2006 Toyota Tacoma behind Simmons’ vehicle when he failed to stop and struck Simmons’ vehicle in the rear. Sgt. Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.

On Aug. 27, an accident occurred on Townhouse Road in Whitefield involving Randall A. Northrup, 77, of Whitefield. Mr. Northrup was operating his 2025 Toyota Tacoma northbound when due to a medical issue, he crossed the center line, entered a ditch and came to rest into a standing tree. Deputy Mark Fortin was the investigating officer.

On Aug. 28, an accident occurred on Mills Road in Whitefield involving Emily I. Ray, 47, of Lisbon Falls. Ms. Ray was operating her 2020 Ford Explorer southbound when a deer ran out and was struck, causing damage to the driver’s side mirror and along the driver’s side of her vehicle. Deputy Nathaniel Aronson was the investigating officer.
