BRHS indoor track, girls basketball seniors honored
The senior athletes on the Boothbay Region High School indoor track and girls varsity basketball teams were honored in the school’s Senior Night ceremony prior to the girls basketball game against Dirigo High School Tuesday, Jan. 27.
Each senior was introduced by announcer Skip L’Heureux and coaches Nick Scott (indoor track) and Bruce Orne (girls basketball) presented flowers to each athlete, who then presented the flower to those representing them in the bleachers.
“This flower symbolizes the appreciation Boothbay Region High School has for the years of hard work and dedication of our student athletes and the years of support from the people that have helped make their participation possible,” said L’Heureux.
The following is in the order of the presentations.
Indoor Track
Logan Bourne, son of Amy Ouellette, has been a member of the track team for two seasons. He plans to attend Central Maine Community College for electromechanical technologies.
Kora McKenney, daughter of Amanda Johnson and stepdaugther of Matt Johnson, has been on the track team for three seasons. She plans to attend Southern Maine Community College.
Rose Campbell, daughter of Jason and Tricia Campbell, has been on the track team for four seasons. She plans to attend Bowdoin College to study sociology and compete in track & field.
Nathan Percival, son of Chris and Angela Percival, has been on the track team for two seasons. He plans to attend college to study mechanical engineering.
Ross Gaffney, son of Cara and Michael Gaffney, has been on the track team for four seasons. He plans to attend college to study history and possibly continue his race-walking career.
Girls Basketball
Sophie White, daughter of Les and Jaime White, has played varsity basketball for four seasons. She plans to attend Maine Maritime Academy to study marine transpiration operations.
Tatum French, daughter of Steven and Ginny Arsenault, has played varsity basketball for four seasons. She plans to attend Central Maine Community College to study business and play basketball.
