Boothbay takes down Mountain Valley 59-45
The Boothbay Region Seahawks outscored the Mountain Valley Falcons 14-6 in the fourth quarter to break open a close game and secure their fourth win, 59-45, in Rumford Thursday night, Jan. 22.
Seniors Harry Hinckley and Simeon Bates led the way for Boothbay, scoring 17 and 16 points, respectively.
"I want to recognize Harry," said coach Dan Hallinan. "He did everything — scored, rebounded, blocked and altered shots. It was his night."
Also scoring in double figures for the Seahawks was Chase Licursi with 14.
Boothbay led for most of the game, holding a 34-25 lead at halftime and 45-39 after three quarters.
Leading scorers for Mountain Valley were Logan Crews (15) and Ridge Duguay (12).
Boothbay improved to 4-11 and Mountain Valley dropped to 3-10.
The Seahawks are next scheduled to travel to Dirigo on Monday, Jan. 26 but the weather forecast of heavy snow will most likely postpone the game. Their next home game is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 28 against Mt. Abram.
