36ers record 3 straight wins, move into third place in Senior Legion standings
The Boothbay 36ers looked to extend their winning streak to four straight as they traveled to Farmington July 14 for a contest versus Roderick-Crosby Post 36 in Maine Senior American Legion baseball action.
Last week, Boothbay posted victories over Capital Area (4-2), Windham (13-7) and, on July 12, added another win at home over the Gray Post 86 Warriors in Boothbay. The 36ers defeated Gray, 8-2. Boothbay had nine hits with Finn Harkins and Shawn Gamage each recording a single and double. Maddox Cusumano singled twice. Other 36ers with singles were Blade Brann, Liam Jacobs and Jacob Watkinson.
Gray scored once in the top of the first. Boothbay responded with single runs in the first three innings, one in the fifth and four in the sixth in building an 8-1 lead. Boothbay left eight men on base. Gray left seven on base.
Harkins pitched 6.1 innings. He allowed one earned run on three hits, walked one and struck out five. Aidan Sanborn recorded the final two outs. He didn't allow a hit and allowed one earned run. He walked four and struck out one.
The 36ers are in third place with a 6-2 record. July 15, they travel to Gray for a game against the Gray Post 86 Warriors. The 36ers are at home July 16 to host Skowhegan.
