Boothbay/Wiscasset scored 127 points. Maranacook won with 164. Winthrop finished third with 83. Rose Campbell won the 100M, 200M and discus. Arabella Hodgdon won the 1,600M race walk. BRHS tennis matches rescheduled Boothbay Region High School's boys and girls tennis matches were postponed today and have been rescheduled, according to BRHS Athletic Director Allan Crocker. The girls make-up at Mt. Valley will be Wednesday, May 21 at 4 p.m. The boys make-up at Spruce Mountain will be Saturday, May 24 at A-Copi in Augusta at noon. Chapman loses in singles semifinal Boothbay Region High School senior Laura Chapman, ranked third in the state, battled her way to the semifinal round of the 2025 girls state singles tennis tournament at Colby College in Waterville on Saturday, May 17 before losing to second-ranked Molly Tefft of Brunswick, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, according to the Maine Principals’ Association website. Tefft went on to lose the championship to top-ranked Sofia Kirtchev of Falmouth, 6-2, 6-3. Boothbay/Wiscasset boys place third in MVC meet The Boothbay/Wiscasset boys track team placed third May 15 in an eight-team event at Maranacook Community High School in Readfield. Boothbay/Wiscasset scored 79 points. Winthrop won with 212.5 and Maranacook finished second with 130. Boothbay/Wiscasset's Ben Gapski won the 110M hurdles and Ross Gaffney won the 1,600M race walk. In the 100M dash, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Isaac Fanslau finished fourth with a 12.47 second mark. Maranacook's Seth Dunphy won with a 11.98 mark. The Seahawks are now 3-4 and seeded third in Class D South. The teams held each other at bay until the third inning, when the Black Bears scored three runs on errors, according to Boothbay coach Ed Crocker. The Seahawks responded in the sixth, tying the game with three runs including a strong call from Maddox Cusumano. ‘The Kids are Alright’ in Group 2 season opener at Wiscasset Speedway Wet weather has been a factor all season long at both Wiscasset Speedway and local race tracks across New England. Leading into this past weekend, Mother Nature’s misfortune had already resulted in an abbreviated Group 1 racing program last week at and a 2-week postponement of the Group 2 season opener. The Seahawks are now ranked fourth in the Class D South Heal point standings. May 2, the Seahawks let seven errors get the best of them as they lost to Dirigo 4-2. The Seahawks scored the first run of the game in the third inning. The Cougars responded with three in the third and another in the fifth. Boothbay scored the final run in the sixth inning.
