Wildcats claw past Blue Devils
The Boothbay Region Elementary School (BRES) girls basketball team took a decisive win against Bristol Consolidated School Feb. 2. The undefeated, and top-seeded, Wildcats won 51-34 in the Busline League small school division quarterfinals.
BRES took a 14-6 lead in the first quarter, setting the pace for the game. The team continued to lead 36-13 in the second and 45-19 in the third. But the Blue Devils still had some fight in them and rallied in the final quarter, scoring 15 points to Boothbay’s six.
Pauline Nadine-Miller and Mabel Kaler led the Wildcats, scoring 13 points each; Madi Alley scored eight; Jimiah Stetson, five; Abigail Locke Smith, three; Isabella Page, four; Meabh Hennessy and Izabella Locke Smith, two; and Savannah Alley, one.
Rose Eraklis led Bristol with 18 points.
Boothbay had 10 fouls and Bristol had five.
BRES' semifinal game is Feb. 5 at 3:45 p.m. at BRES.
