Dear Editor:

I live in Boothbay and have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Charlotte for a couple of years, more now as the election season heats up. 

Why am I voting for her? That’s easy. In an atmosphere of competition and conflict, I have never once seen her bright, cheery demeanor waver. Combine that with keen intelligence, deep knowledge of her local constituents, and the unwavering desire to do right for the public she serves, and you have an impressive foundation for a servant of the people. Interestingly, she is also keenly aware of the individual character of each of the towns in her district and can help to meld sometimes disparate policies and procedures into a vehicle for the improvement of the lives of their mutual Mainers. 

I was a curriculum developer at Marine Corps Officer Candidates School for 10 years. OCS is one of the most stringent “weeding out” processes in our modern military. One of my favorite commanding officers valued one character trait above almost all others; cheerfulness. When purposely presented with an impossible task or dilemma, the candidate who faced it with cheerfulness and positivity was deemed in his professional judgment, the most desirable to be a leader of Marines. Charlotte Nutt possesses that trait in abundance.

Another huge factor in my choice of Charlotte for the State House, is the endorsement of Holly Stover, our incumbent representative. Holly has been a tireless advocate for the people of her district, and she unreservedly supports Charlotte to continue and build on her good works. Good for Holly is good for me.
