Lincoln Country Sheriff's Office: 2 arrests
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 265 calls for service for the period of Sept. 8 to Sept. 15. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 9,708 calls for service.
Summons
Sara Ali, 24, of South Portland was issued a summons Sept. 12 for Operating while License is Suspended or Revoked – OUI, on Winslow Mills Road, Waldoboro, by Deputy Brandon Maciuba.
Arrests
Arthur R. Trombley, 65, of Walpole was arrested Sept. 8 for Operating under the Influence and Operating Vehicle with Expired Registration, on State Route 129, Bristol, by Deputy Kasey Doyle.
Kirk L. Leeman, 58, of Bremen was arrested Sept. 10 by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, on behalf of an investigation by Detective Jared Mitkus, for the charges of Criminal Conspiracy of Dissemination of Sexually Explicit Material and Possession of Sexually Explicit Material of Minor – Under 12, in Warren. Mr. Leeman was transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy Samuel Alexander.
Accidents
On Sept. 8, an accident occurred on State Route 129 in South Bristol involving Aaron S. Sykes, 57, of South Bristol. Mr. Sykes was operating his 2017 Volkswagen Jetta northbound when a deer ran out in front of him and was struck, causing front end damage. Deputy Jeffrey Rogers was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 8, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Walter J. Ornsteen, 78, of Conroe, Texas and Dana A. Jones, 58, of Nobleboro. Mr. Jones entered the roadway at the northern exit of Hanley’s Market in his 2016 GMC 2500, and proceeded to travel southbound on Bristol Road. Mr. Ornsteen was stopped at the stop sign, going northbound on Route 129, in his 2022 Ford. Ornsteen stated he looked both ways and did not see Jones’ vehicle and proceeded into the intersection. As a result, Jones struck Ornsteen’s vehicle. Deputy Joseph Booth was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 8, an accident occurred on Cross Road in Alna involving Kevin F. Reed, 66, of Wiscasset. Mr. Reed was operating his 2018 GMC Sierra westbound when he advised an eastbound vehicle approached him and that the road was narrow. As a result, he went off the roadway on the right, struck a real estate sign, before traveling into the bushes and striking a rock wall. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 9, an accident occurred on Rockland Road in Somerville involving Rebecca J. Stevens, 50, of Washington. Ms. Stevens was operating her 2015 Toyota Sienna eastbound when a deer entered the roadway from the right and was struck, causing functional damage. Deputy Samuel Alexander was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 10, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving David J. Sperry, 72, of Bristol. Mr. Sperry was operating his 2025 Ford Ranger northbound when he experienced a medical event, which caused him to cross the center line, hit the curb (island at the intersection of Route 130/129), go briefly airborne, before going off the roadway on the left side and striking a ditch. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 13, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Wiscasset involving Ella E. Soucy, 17, of Gardiner. Ms. Soucy was operating her 2022 Nissan Rogue southbound when she advised a deer ran out in the road in front of her. As a result, she got off onto the soft shoulder and then went off the roadway on the right and struck a CMP utility pole. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
