This week at the Lincoln Theater
"The Christophers" - (R; 1 hour, 40 minutes) - The children of a once famous artist hire a forger to complete some unfinished, long ago abandoned canvases so they'll have an inheritance when he dies. A sly caper carried off with director Steven Soderbergh's characteristic panache, “The Christophers” is a superb two-hander featuring Ian McKellen and Michaela Coel at their very best. Final showing Thursday, June 4 at 2 p.m. Presented in partnership with Wanderwood.
"All My Sons" - National Theatre Live - (PG-13; 2 hours, 15 minutes) - Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) and Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Hard Truths) feature in a five-star, triumphantly acclaimed new production of Arthur Miller’s classic play, from visionary director Ivo Van Hove (A View from the Bridge). One family, the heart of the American dream. When wartime delivers profits for Joe, it comes at a price when his partner is charged with criminal manufacturing deals, and his eldest son goes missing in action. Will peacetime bring peace of mind, or will he be confronted by the consequence of his actions? Filmed live from the West End, Paapa Essiedu (I May Destroy You), Tom Glynn-Carney (House of the Dragon), and Hayley Squires (I, Daniel Blake) also feature in this disturbingly prescient play. Playing Thursday, June 4 at 6 p.m. and Friday, June 5 at 2 p.m. Tickets: $15 adult, $13 LT member, $5 youth. Generously Sponsored by First National Bank and First National Wealth Management.
"The Devil Wears Prada 2" - (PG-13; 1 hour, 59 minutes) - Twenty years after making their iconic turns as Miranda, Andy, Emily and Nigel--Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci return to the fashionable streets of New York City and the sleek offices of Runway Magazine in 20th Century Studios' "The Devil Wears Prada 2," the eagerly awaited sequel to the 2006 phenomenon that defined a generation. Playing Friday, June 5 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, June 6 at 2 and 7 p.m.; Sunday, June 7 at 5 p.m., Wednesday, June 10 at 2 and 7 p.m. and Thursday, June 11 at 2 PM. Presented in partnership with Ocean Blue Fitness.
"Boy Erased" - (R; 2018; 1 hour, 55 minutes) - Free - Jared Eamons, the son of a small-town Baptist pastor, must overcome the fallout after being outed as gay to his parents. His father and mother struggle to reconcile their love for their son with their beliefs. Fearing a loss of family, friends and community, Jared is pressured into attending a conversion therapy program. While there, Jared comes into conflict with its leader and begins his journey to finding his own voice and accepting his true self. The film will be followed by a panel talk hosted by Lincoln County Unity & Community Pride. Sunday, June 7 at 1 p.m. Presented in partnership with Lincoln County Unity and Community Pride and Healthy Lincoln County.
