Author Ellen Baker will celebrate the release of her new Maine-set HarperCollins novel, "Summerland Cove," with a book launch party on Tuesday, June 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wiscasset Yacht Club, 2 Water St., Wiscasset. The event is free and open to the public.

Designed as an immersive literary experience, the evening will feature a menu inspired by the novel, a scene brought to life from its pages, and special giveaways. Signed books will be available through Fiction Bookshop of Wiscasset.

Set in Midcoast Maine, "Summerland Cove" explores family secrets, family traditions, and the unraveling that begins when a husband disappears on the night of his birthday party. The novel has been described as “a beach read with teeth” and will be available June 2 wherever books are sold.

Baker is the author of four novels, including "The Hidden Life of Cecily Larson," a 2024 HarperCollins Lead Read that was featured in People and Woman’s World. A longtime Midcoast resident, Baker often writes about family, identity, and the hidden forces shaping our lives.

“This event is meant to feel less like a traditional book event and more like stepping inside the story,” Baker said.
