RE: Matching gift from anonymous donor
Anonymous Donor Pledges Dollar-to-Dollar Match up to $15,000
in support of Sail, Power, & Steam Museum
Community Encouraged to Maximize Impact Through Generous Matching Opportunity
Rockland Maine’s Sail, Power, & Steam Museum (SPSM) is thrilled to announce that an anonymous donor has pledged to match all donations dollar-for-dollar, up to $15,000, now until July 1, 2026, to support SPSM’s ongoing initiatives and programs.
This remarkable opportunity allows community members to double the impact of their support and make a meaningful difference by educating museum visitors on the importance of maintaining our Maine nautical heritage exhibits.
Right now, the Sail, Power, & Steam Museum - through its Midcoast Sailing Center – features the hugely popular Sail Kids For Free (SKFF) program, that gives free sailing lessons throughout the summer to more than 150 children annually. This program alone costs more than $35,000 per year.
Every donation received during this campaign will be matched, effectively doubling the value of each gift. Whether $10, $1,000 or more is donated, that generosity goes twice as far thanks to this committed anonymous donor.
The matching campaign will continue until the $15,000 maximum is reached, or through July 2026, whichever comes first.
SPSM invites everyone to participate to help us reach this ambitious goal. Together, we can amplify our efforts and create a lasting and positive impact to the museum and the community it serves. Donations can be made online, by mail, or in person at the Sail, Power, & Steam Museum at 75 Mechanic St., Rockland, ME, 04841, or by using the QR code below.
Let’s seize this unique opportunity to strengthen our community and show the power of collective giving!
