Lincoln County Sheriff's Office: Several accidents
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 191 calls for service for the period of May 12 to May 19. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 4,585 calls for service.
Summonses
John E. Lee, 68, of Jefferson was issued a summons May 13 for Assault, on Woodchuck Way, Jefferson, by Sgt. Scott Hayden.
Jason I. Thyen, 54, of Boothbay was issued a summons May 14 for Leaving Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident, on Boothbay Road, Edgecomb, by Deputy Nathaniel Aronson.
Arrest
Jesse W. Knox, 36, of Appleton was arrested May 17 on three Knox County warrants for Unpaid Fines, on Waldoboro Road, Jefferson, by Deputy Brandon Maciuba.
Accidents
On May 12, an accident occurred on Route 17 in Windsor involving James H. Stanley, 49, of Winslow. Mr. Stanley was operating his 2024 Toyota Corolla eastbound when he observed a deer enter the roadway and strike his vehicle. Sgt. Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
On May 12, an accident occurred on Mills Road in Whitefield involving Kassandra A. Tripp, 44, of Somerville. Ms. Tripp was operating her 2017 Chevrolet Silverado southbound when a turkey entered the roadway and struck her vehicle. Sgt. Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On May 14, an accident occurred on Corey Lane in Boothbay involving James C. Dahl, 52, of Bridgewater. Mr. Dahl was operating his 2022 Freightliner truck, with a long dual axle trailer, southbound (with a lead car in front of him), carrying large trusses on the trailer. Dahl came into the Boothbay rotary and was attempting to turn right onto Corey Lane. The trusses clipped a light pole, knocking it over. The trusses sustained minor damage and the light pole was destroyed. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer,
On May 15, an accident occurred on Route 27 in Wiscasset involving Barbara A. Ames, 69, of Wiscasset and Amanda P. Ujhelyi, 39, of Westbrook. Ms. Ames was stopped at the stop sign on Hooper Street, at the Route 27 intersection, in her 2015 Jeep Cherokee, waiting to go straight across Route 27 and back onto Hooper Street. Ms. Ujhelyi was operating her 2025 Toyota 4Runner northbound on Route 27 when Ames attempted to cross Route 27, causing Ames to strike Ujhelyi’s vehicle. Deputy Nathan Yeaton was the investigating officer.
On May 15, an accident occurred on Pemaquid Loop Road in Bristol involving Kody Pruyne, 25, of Waldoboro. Mr. Pruyne was operating his 2015 Kia Optima northbound when he lost control of his vehicle on a curve, traveled into the woods, before striking a tree. Deputy Brandon Maciuba was the investigating officer.
On May 15, an accident occurred on McKay Road in Edgecomb involving John K. Probert, 26, of Wiscasset. Mr. Probert was operating his 2016 Ford Escape westbound when he went off the road on the left side and into a field, where he struck a tree. Deputy Samuel Alexander was the investigating officer.
On May 16, an accident occurred on Barters Island Road in Boothbay involving Richard B. Campbell, 83, of Boothbay. Mr. Campbell was operating his 2020 Ford Edge eastbound when a deer entered the roadway from the left and was struck. Deputy Nathan Yeaton was the investigating officer.
