"Merrily We Roll Along" - (PG-13; 2 hours, 35 minutes) - Spanning three decades, “Merrily We Roll Along” charts the turbulent relationship between composer Franklin Shepard and his two lifelong friends -- writer Mary and lyricist and playwright Charley. Originally produced on Broadway in 1981, this 2023-2024 Broadway production, redefined the show for a new era, bringing Stephen Sondheim's intricate score and George Furth's book to vivid life with extraordinary depth and clarity. The critically acclaimed production won the 2024 Tony Awards for Best Revival of a Musical, Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical, Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical, and Best Orchestrations. Additionally, in London, “Merrily We Roll Along” garnered the most five-star reviews in West-End history. Playing Thursday, Feb. 26 at 2 and 7 p.m. (Regular film ticket prices).
"The Testament of Ann Lee" - (R; 2 hours, 17 minutes) - From award-winning writer-director Mona Fastvold ("The Brutalist") comes the extraordinary true legend of Ann Lee, founder of the devotional sect known as the Shakers. Academy Award nominee Amanda Seyfried stars as the Shaker's irrepressible leader, who preached gender and social equality and was revered by her followers. "The Testament of Ann Lee" captures the ecstasy and agony of her quest to build a utopia, featuring more than a dozen traditional Shaker hymns reimagined as rapturous movements and original songs and score by Academy Award winner Daniel Blumberg ("The Brutalist"). Playing at 2 and 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, Saturday, Feb. 28 and Wednesday, March 4; and at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 5.
"Labyrinth"- (1986, PG; 1 hour, 41 minutes) - Free family film - Frustrated with babysitting on yet another weekend night, Sarah (Jennifer Connelly), a teenager with an active imagination, summons the Goblins to take her baby stepbrother away. When little Toby actually disappears, Sarah must follow him into a fantastical world to rescue him from the Goblin King (David Bowie). Sunday, March 1 at 1 p.m. Our Free Family Film series is generously sponsored by Bath Savings Bank.
"Born Yesterday" - (1950; 1 hour, 43 minutes) - Fifth film in season 9 of Lincoln Theater’s Classic Film Club. Brassy blonde moll Billie Dawn (Judy Holliday) hits Washington, D.C., with her unscrupulous millionaire sugar daddy, Harry Brock (Broderick Crawford), and his sleazy lawyer, Jim Devery (Howard St. John). Host Jeannie MacDonald will provide an intro to the film and a post screening Q & A. Playing Thursday, March 5 at 7 p.m. and Friday, March 6 at 2 p.m. Tickets: $10 adult, $7 LT members and youth (18 and under). Free for Classic Film Club members.
