Dear Editor:

Maine and Washington Republicans are irresponsible and impotent.

My grandmother was an old-fashioned lady. Having been born in 1900, later living in Candlelight Cottage on Dogfish Head road on Southport, she was true blue. She believed in strong men and traditional American hard-working principles. Grama GG had a summary phrase that represented how she felt  about frail, duplicitous politicians. She would exclaim, “weak as water.”

We, the people, at one time, voted with confidence that our Republic was in good hands. Lately, both Augusta and senate-house republicans, call out their own slogans: "turn tail and run” and “give in to opposition pressure and intimidation.”

If my grandmother were alive today, she would be thoroughly  disgusted.
