Have yourself a Merry Vintage Christmas
Boothbay Region Historical Society partied like it was the 19th century Dec. 6 during its annual Christmas open house. The home was jampacked with attendees enjoying festive treats while taking in the vintage decorations, museum displays, or throwing their hats in for one of the Society's raffle baskets.
Society President Kay Wilder credited a large part of the event's success to the new Outreach & Development Manager, Connie Hartley, a key figure in advertising and securing sponsors.
“She really has been the energy. This is the best year I think I've ever seen (for the open house),” Wilder said.
2025 has also been an exciting year for the Society project-wise as it helps the Boothbay Register with our historical digitization. The goal of the project is to create an electronic database of prior editions, with 37 out of 135 years completed so far.
Looking ahead, Wilder said the museum will be decluttering and evaluating its collection, as well as working on more collaborative events in the community. “It's kind of a rebuilding, resetting time of year.”
